Summit Choral Society | Performance Choir | Choral Festival | Memorial Day Weekend | Washington D.C. | Day 1

Thursday, May 25, 2017

Everyone arrived in Akron, OH bright & EARLY for Washington D.C.
After saying our goodbyes, we were on our way…5 minutes early! Woo-Hoo!
When we arrived in Washington, we had lunch at the Pentagon City Mall
We then headed to Arlington National Cemetery were we would make the .7 mile walk to The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
What a humbling experience for all of us.
As we headed off to dinner, we hit traffic…and a lot of it!
We had a family style Italian dinner at Bertucci’s!
All the homemade pizza, pasta & meatballs you could eat! Yummm!
After dinner, we headed for our hotel where the choir moms & myself turned into
Bell-Hops & Disney World Cast Members!
We magically got all of the luggage off the bus & into the designated rooms while our amazing singers had their first 3 hour practice with 270 singers from around the country.
What a great first day in our Nations Capital!
Bring on the weekend!
