Niccole + Jorge | Exploration Gateway | Wedding

I started my company at the beginning of July. The 5th to be exact. And 15 days later, I received a private message from a woman named Joan. Her daughter Niccole was getting married the following year and she began asking if I had done weddings before, and what wedding packages I offered. I told her that I had not done any weddings, since I had just launched by business a 2 weeks earlier, but that I would be doing them in the future and I quoted her a price. She talked it over with Niccole, messaged me back and booked RachelLucia Photography’s first wedding!

Over the next year, Niccole, Joan and I had  numerous phone calls, text messages, and coffee to plan the wedding of Niccole’s dreams. During one of our meetings at Starbucks, I got met her and Jorge’s daughter, Chelsey. She was such a sweetheart and was so excited to be a Junior Bridesmaid in the wedding!

So, after months and months of planning every detail, September 17, 2016 finally arrived!

There is an old saying, “Happy is the bride that rain falls on”…well who ever said this clearly was not having an outside wedding. We had all been watching the weather the entire week and the morning of the big day was no different. With each passing hour, the chance of rain seemed to disappear. Once the ceremony was set up (thanks to the groomsmen) and people started taking  their seats outside, Niccole could finally relax…a little.

While I have photographed weddings over the last year, there was something extra special about this one. This was my “first” booked wedding! And it was finally here!!  There was a flood of emotions for me that day as Niccole was getting ready with her bridesmaids, when she saw her father for the first time and when she said “I Do” to the man of her dreams. When her Mom came down the aisle after the ceremony, with tears in her eyes, she looked at me and said, “We did it!” and gave me the biggest hug. All I could do was cry tears of joy with her (thankfully no one was taking my picture at this time…that’s all I gotta say!)

After all the “I do’s” it was time to PARTY. The Jimenz family sure knows how to have a good time! Not only do they know how to party but they know how to do it in style. Everything was so classy and put together! Nicole and her friends and family certainly made it a night that no one would forget. From the music, to the photo booth, awesome food, perfect decoration, to dancing and surprises for all! They made sure that EVERYONE had a great time!

Instead of doing a Mother-Son dance, Jorge danced with his daughter Chelsey. What started off as Gary Allans – Tough Little Boys quickly turned into a song that I had never heard before and Jorge and Chelsey broke out into routine! Niccole looked over at me with the biggest smile on her face and said,
“The dance like this around the house all the time!”

And this wasnt the only entertainment for the evening…the bride and best man (who happened to be her brother) had a BIG surprise for Jorge! There are no words that will do this moment justice so I will just have to let the pictures do all the talking! Pranks an surprises make things so much fun! This night was a night we definitely wont forget. Thankfully because we were there no one will forget a single moment!

Congratulations Niccole and Jorge!

We wish you a lifetime of happiness! ❤
